How to Use Divine Guidance to Feel Like You’re Enough with Heather Maguire

About the Episode

Being a mom entrepreneur is one of the most challenging- and rewarding- roles a woman can take on. Not only are you responsible for growing a successful business, but you’re also responsible for raising happy, healthy children. It’s a lot to juggle, and it’s easy to feel like you’re not enough. You may be trying your best but it never seems like what you’re doing is good enough. You may feel guilty about not spending enough time with your family and you may feel like it’s not enough time in the day to do it all. You might be in constant comparison mode, looking at what other mom entrepreneurs are doing and wonder why you can’t do the same.

What if, instead of looking at all the ways you could be like another mom entrepreneur and feel like you have it all together, you gave yourself grace and saw your potential? What if, instead of seeing all the ways you could improve, you saw how far you’ve already come? What if you could see the beauty and worth that already exists within you and know that you are in fact enough.

You may feel like this is easier said than done or may not know how to get to feeling like you’re enough. What if you used Divine Guidance to help you? Well today, you are going to learn how to do just that.

In this episode, I interview Heather Maguire, an unconventional intuitive, and we discuss What it means to be enough, How to embrace your flaws and still feel like you’re enough, The key things people need to feel whole and specific techniques to practice, How feeling whole contributes to success, Being in a partnership with God, How Divine Guidance helps you in your business, and Advice for mom entrepreneurs struggling with feeling like their enough and whole. Heather provides valuable tips and insights on how to work with Divine Guidance to feel more like you’re enough, regardless of your circumstances. If you’re a mom entrepreneur who struggles with feeling like you’re doing enough or being enough, this episode is for you!

Hi, Heather, welcome to the show.

Heather Maguire 1:25
Thank you, I’m so excited to be here.

Gianna Diggs 1:28
I’m excited to have you because we’re gonna really touch on why you the listener, Mom entrepreneur, why you are enough? And also bringing in how intuition can play a role in this feeling. So Heather, what does it mean to you to be enough?

Heather Maguire 1:49
Oh, my goodness, I chose this word. Last fall, we had to choose a word, we’re both part of a program where we had to choose a word of how we wanted to feel. And it’s always been my thing, you are enough. But I had this whole new embodiment of it when I chose the word for last fall. And so enough for me means I am enough, I don’t have to do more, I don’t have to be more there is nothing more I need to do to be worthy to have a place at the table there. In and of myself just exactly who I am, is who I am supposed to be. End of story, period. And when you hold on to that, it changes everything about how you experience your life and how you show up for your life.

Gianna Diggs 2:41
Oh, wow, I love that I love that. It came out of a word that that we that you created, right of how you want it to feel. Because I think a lot of times like, we don’t feel like we’re enough. And it’s something that I know a lot of people including myself that we struggle with. So how do you embrace your own flaws? And still feel like you’re enough?

Heather Maguire 3:07
Oh, that’s such a great question. So we live in this world that tells us that, you know, we’re not who we’re supposed to be, we should have more money, we should be skinnier, we should, all kinds of things that we’re not, and it gets inside of you. And also you you know by nature by the what life is is this process of seeing something else and wanting that an evolutionary process. And so it’s so easy and understandable that we slip into this place of only seeing our flaws only seeing what we don’t have, that we’re not where we want to be that we haven’t reached our goals. And you know, there’s the whole masculine feminine conversation, which we won’t dive into right now at this moment, but to embrace your flaws, to me means really embracing that who you are as who you’re supposed to be. You know, when you believe you have flaws, you’re you’re telling yourself well, that’s imperfect, I shouldn’t be this way. I shouldn’t be doing this thing. And yeah, we can have behaviors that are self destructive or not. Not ideal for our health and our well being but they don’t go away by shame. They don’t go away by hating them. They resolve themselves and we heal by trusting ourselves by embracing them and saying, Okay, I see you this is how I’m feeling I got it. Okay. And then we can move forward from a whole place

Gianna Diggs 4:51
right? I love that because I feel like I always talk about like when it comes to fears for example, right like moving through them like I don’t you As the word Get out, get over them, right? I always use, like, moving through them, because I’ve come to recognize probably in the past two years that like, These things never go away, right? And so even our flaws, right, they like, we can work on them. But there are certain things where there’s we carry it energetically, that are just never gonna go away. And so there’s a thing of just kind of, I love how you say just like embracing it, and understanding that, even with this flaw, right, it could be your superpower that you can, you know, you’re still enough even though you have these things present. So I really love that you said that. So what do you think are the key things, you know, people need to kind of feel like they’re enough to feel whole, right? Are there any like, specific techniques or practices that you found helpful for you in this process?

Unknown Speaker 5:52
My whole thing is about getting into your body, that my experience, and my belief is our body is the voice of our intuition. It’s the voice of our connection to whatever you call your bigger power, God, universe, Source Energy, whatever that is, your body is the voice of that. It’s how you get to experience that and have the human experience at the same time. So how to feel enough is to get inside of your body and feel what’s going on inside of there. And when your brain which most of us, myself included, our brains are telling us, you’re not doing a good enough job, you should have done this better, you should have done that better. You know, that’s kind of the default for pretty much everybody. And we all have our own version of it. But some, in some way we’re criticizing or judging or comparing. And to feel enough and to feel whole you get inside of your body, you feel what it feels like in there. And then you start to reach for feelings that feel whole and feel enough. And the words have a lot of power. Words has tremendous power. And so just putting your hands on your heart and saying I am whole, I am enough, can bring your body into that resonance and into that frequency. And you can feel your energy shift, and just sit with that that’s the fastest, easiest way. It’s not to fight your brain. And to talk back to the thoughts that just engages you with it more. But to just get into your body and feel what’s happening in there. And to you know, share it loving kindness with yourself. And I am enough I am home. And feel that that is magic.

Gianna Diggs 7:47
Yes. Oh my goodness. I love that, um, was I gonna say I lost it that quick. But I was just thinking of just a lot of times as a society we don’t, where we ignore our bodies, right? We ignore. Even we talking about intuition, right? Like, even in our intuition, a lot of the times it’s a gut feeling, or it’s a feeling somewhere in our body. For me, I feel it like a chill down my back. Right? And it’s like, oh, you know, you ignore it? Right? And it’s like, oh, I don’t I don’t even know what that means. And I think, because you talked about masculine and feminine, earlier, where it’s like, because a lot of things come from that masculine side, it’s like we’re taught the logical part of our brain is like, oh, that doesn’t mean anything. And so that just kind of made me think of that, because I think that if we all kind of tuned into our bodies, no matter if you’re male or female, you know, whoever, it we would all be in a better place once we if we started to kind of go into our bodies.

Heather Maguire 8:55
Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, and and there’s science, so much science. Now, that tells us that that is. There’s wisdom there. There’s knowing there, and there’s healing there. Our brains are amazing and powerful, and useful and helpful. But they’re, we’re not meant to rely on them alone to guide ourselves.

Gianna Diggs 9:23
Right. So how do you think feeling whole contributes to like the success in your business?

Heather Maguire 9:33
Well, I’ll say that. I don’t stay there all of the time. And I don’t think that very many people do. It’s a it’s an aspiration. And the further I walk this path, the faster I realize when I’ve fallen off of it, the faster I awaken and say, Oh, it feels awful inside of me, right now. Wait a minute. And I recognize the thoughts and I recognize the behaviors that are contributing to that. But feeling whole in my business means that I’m not trying to have somebody else’s business. I’m having my own business. I’m not, you know, other people success leaves footprints. So you can see how other people did things. And there’s a fine line between seeing how other people do things and then making it your own. Right coming from that whole place. Right. So as an entrepreneur, you have to you have to kind of dance that dance, you have to look and find out how other people are doing things. But if you if you put too much in that space of I need to be like other people, I need to do it like other people, you lose the unis, the wholeness of the why you started in the in the first place. So it’s so important to stay connected with your why with your mission with that whole place inside of you. Because then instead of sounding desperate in your marketing, or inauthentic, you come from this really genuine place where people are attracted to it, you know, to feel that when you see people’s social media, when you see their websites, if they’re feeling really genuine, it just feels completely different. It’s so much more magnetic,

Gianna Diggs 11:33
Right. Oh, my goodness. What was I gonna say, oh, right, what you made me think of is just the alignment part. Right? Like, that’s, I’m big on that. That’s what I coach around is creating this alignment part in it. It kind of clicked in my head of like, the connection between wholeness and alignment, right? And how you’re like, Well, when you feel whole, right, like you’re, you don’t need to do what everyone else is doing, right? Because a lot of times when we do that we’re out of alignment, because we’re not, there’s tactics where it might work for someone else. But it doesn’t work for you. And you’re trying to figure out why. And it’s because it’s out of alignment. And when you feel whole, and when you have this understanding of that, you know, you are enough and that, yes, you want to have a coach or you want to learn from other people. But at the end of the day, you’re the boss of your business, you’re the one who knows what feels good. And when that their alignment piece comes in that brings in that wholeness.

Heather Maguire 12:32
Exactly, exactly. Yeah,

Gianna Diggs 12:35
that I was like, Oh, it kind of like clicked in my brain when he said, When you said it. Yeah. So in a conversation that mean you had off air, we talked about, know how to use the divine source to kind of help you feel whole. And I love that you called it a partnership with God. So I want you to kind of talk more about that.

Heather Maguire 12:58
Well, really, at the end of the day, our inspiration, our who we really are, is this is this piece of God, it the way that I know the way that I see the world. That’s my experience. If you think about you, who you are, who you are, is not your body, who you are is not really kind of the roles you play in your life. Who you are, is this person sort of experiencing these things? Right? And that person is this, that you is this Divine Presence, having this human experience playing these roles interacting. And so really, when you’re partnering with God, you are honoring that and you are saying, this is not all Me, me, this little person. It’s not just me against the world, me doing everything. I have this partnership. So I do my part, I have to send the emails I have to post on social media, I have to do the things and meet with the clients. But I’m in this partnership I am held. And you know, I love this exercise. I read one time in a Martha Beck book. And it’s such a great illustration of your partnership with something bigger. And she’s she has you think about something that you really love in your life that you can’t imagine your life without. And at the time I thought about my husband and and she says Now think back to the five things that went wrong. That made it possible for that to come into your life.

Gianna Diggs 14:48
Hmm Wow, that’s powerful.

Heather Maguire 14:53
And when you do that, you can see how you are how you are led how you are held Even in those times when things seem like they’re going wrong, so, yeah, we are in this partnership with the divine.

Gianna Diggs 15:10
Wow. I love that because, um, there’s a exercise. What’s her name Britt Bolnick. And if I set her name incorrectly, apologies, and I’ll definitely link her name in the show notes in case I did. But she has a similar exercise that I’ve used before where it’s like, you list out 20 Like, she was having, let’s say, her, her husband just wasn’t getting along that week or whatever. So she wrote down 20 reasons why she was okay with that. Right, like, 20 reasons why this disagreement was was fine. And it’s just to kind of go into a gratitude of like, oh, wow, okay, so this is kind of how I’m contributing to our disagreement, because I’m okay with it. Because of these 20 reasons. You know, in going back to business 20 reasons why you’re okay with not having a client, right? If because you want clients. So it’s kind of a similar thing, and it kind of makes you be like, Oh, okay, kind of like seeing where you’re putting your energy and seeing how you might even be contributing to the thing that you don’t want. So I love that exercise

Heather Maguire 16:15
of Yeah, it kind of illuminates your comfort zone doesn’t

Gianna Diggs 16:19
Yeah, yeah. I love that. I love that so much. Because I think sometimes when we’re doing certain things, especially like, Okay, starting a business, for example, right, and then when you’re, let’s say, because I’ve experienced this money may not be coming in and like, you’ll be like, Why did I leave that job? Right? But you don’t, but you’re, you’re not looking for the blessing in leaving that job. Right? Because you’re because you’re stuck on the fact that money may not be coming in right now. All right. And so this idea of, okay, I’m gonna list out all the things that, you know, had to go wrong for me to get here is like, wow, I’m actually probably further than I think I am, regardless of the money. And so I think that’s a super powerful exercise. And I’m going to link the author’s name in the show notes, so people can check that out. Because I think that’s a powerful both exercise I think, are super powerful. Because we get in our head a lot right

Heather Maguire 17:16
here. Yeah, yes. Yeah. Out of fear. You know, when you’re in fear, your body is not operating in a healthy way. Your brain is in this frantic thought pattern, frantic energy pattern. And so you’re, you’re not choosing from a place of wholeness, for sure. You’re not communicating from that place of wholeness, you, you, you’re feeling unsafe, and I’m alone untethered. And when you come from that place of I’m in a partnership, there’s, I have a team here, I’m part of a team, then you understand sometimes on a team, you know, somebody asked to sit on the bench for a while, or somebody gets to be the star. And it’s like, it helps you understand and appreciate the divine timing of it all. Okay, you know, maybe maybe God’s lining some things up that I just can’t see right now. Right, I’m just gonna keep doing my thing. Keep trusting.

Gianna Diggs 18:18
Right? I love that. And so, you kind of started saying the answer to this question. But like, how does divine guidance? How can that really, once you step into this presence of my business is going to be a partnership with God? Like, how can that benefit your business?

Heather Maguire 18:37
Um, oh, yeah. So I was just talking about moving out of fear and that feeling of alone. So when you feel like I am in, I have to be the one to do this. Your thinking goes into survival mode, it gets very, very limited. And so instead of thinking of being open, you know, I’m going to, I’m going to move forward with this, because this is the idea that I have, this is the vision that I have, but I’m going to stay open, that there could be something else, there could be something more, it means that when you get a divine detour, when you have a launch and nobody signs up, instead of automatically going to this place of like, I’m kidding myself, I’m a total loser. It’s easier to pivot to say, okay, something in there wasn’t a fit for me. I’m gonna trust that that wasn’t what was meant to happen. I’m gonna take what feels right and pivot in this other direction. And even you know, as a coach, as a coach, you see, you think, Oh, I can I can see working with people for three months, and it could look like this, but I’m gonna stay open to that something bigger. Because the truth is, is you you may have the possibility of doing year long or some kind of a huge group or who knows but when you You feel like I am the only one that can figure this out and I need to do it all you are saying you are, it’s like you’re shutting the door to universal support, you’re shutting the door to new inspiration, you’re saying no, and you’re just closing down. And so staying open and recognizing I’m in a partnership here opens you up to new possibilities. And it makes it so easy. That’s when the email lands in your inbox, introducing you to the perfect person and, you know, things start to just work out.

Gianna Diggs 20:34
Right. Right, I think that just speaks to the power of surrender. Like when he was talking that that’s the word that came to me was first was like, relinquish control. And then the second word that came to me, as you were speaking was like surrender. Because again, we’re thinking from the mat from the like, I gotta be in control of everything that masculine side, we, we want to, like were in control, we want to control every little thing, and then we close ourselves off to a possibility of staying open to Okay, well, you know, staying open to what could happen, and, and not having to be this person that is like, everything has to happen the way you want it to happen. And then if it doesn’t happen, Oh, you like you said before, I’m a failure. Because that’s where our brains will go is will instantly go into, oh, this was a failure. And I know, I’ve found myself doing that, like, oh, this thing didn’t work out. And so I’ve just personally, I can speak on a personal note that we’ve been working on surrender and being like, Okay, I have to surrender the results to this, because we’re always like, we got to have this goal. And we have a good, better best goal. And if this doesn’t hit, then it wasn’t a success. And it’s like, well, like you said, you might have a divine intervention that is kind of directing you somewhere else. And you don’t even know it, because you’ve closed yourself off. So I love that you said that.

Heather Maguire 22:01
And even just a little things I know, like it works in our business, because people show up to support us. And magically we find a, like you’re a technology, Genie, and that little things just show up for you and you find them. But even on even on a life scale, a personal scale, as you’re talking all these times when I’ve just held on to okay, I feel really busy. Okay, got it. If there’s anything that can release and let go and take care of itself, and I’ll get an email or a text, okay, my son’s got a ride, my daughter is going to stay late. I can pick her up later, you know, things have a way of flowing. But when I’m in that panic mode, it doesn’t flow. You’re it’s like you, you can’t be supported because you are insisting on doing everything.

Gianna Diggs 22:57
Right. Right. And that’s and that’s the power and in, like you said, the partnership with God, right. That’s the power that, you know, we, we have to work on, like we realize, right? Because it’s like, wow, okay, I have this business in this business. And you’re trying to figure it out. And I’ve realized that once I just stopped trying to figure it out, somehow it just works itself out. And then I’m like, oh, okay, I should have just, you know, not worried about it as much as I was worrying about it before. So what advice would you give to moms, a mompreneur, who’s really struggling with feeling like they’re enough with feeling like their whole, they might even be struggling with, you know, the control of not and not being able to surrender to, to divine guidance? What advice would you give them?

Heather Maguire 23:51
First, I would say forgive yourself, forgive yourself, you know, everybody goes to that place. Absolutely. Everybody goes to that place. And you don’t have to stay there. And so the best place to start is forgiveness to just acknowledge it. Okay, this is where I am. I’m stressed out, overwhelmed. I feel like a failure or I feel like I’m kidding myself. Whatever it is, just admit it, forgive yourself for it, and say, Okay, take a big breath. All right, this is what’s happening. As my teenagers say that happened. And, and then I would say, get into your body, feel what’s going on inside of your body. And that can be really, really hard to do. Especially because we were raised and live in this culture that tells us that we need to understand it, in order to move through it in order to process it. We need to understand it, and it feels like this black hole like overwhelm. I can’t I don’t know. You don’t have You don’t have to process it, you don’t have to understand it, your body can handle it for you. So get into your body, feel what’s going on. And then start thinking about something that feels good. It could be kittens, it could be chocolate chip cookies, it could be anything. start generating feelings that feel good inside of your body, and stay there. And then and then move into I am home. I am home and feel in your body. And that’s your job. Your job is to pay attention to what’s happening in your body, and to keep bringing it back to things that feel good. And that is the way that you love yourself into wholeness, you forgive yourself into wholeness, and then you can move forward, then you can move forward. And it’s a different model. It’s not that masculine model, it’s not the push through, hit your goal, hit your target. And you may have a day or two or a week of really just recuperating, but our bodies need that we we are living lifetimes of pushing through pushing past, ignoring what’s happening. And so that’s okay, there’s so much, there’s so much that we don’t even take into consideration the moon, and the seasons and our body chemistry and all of it, like, be kind to yourself and get into your body. And just pay attention to that and let that let that do the healing work.

Gianna Diggs 26:36
Oh, I love that. That was great advice. So before we wrap up, can you please let the audience know where they can find you online?
